Directions from the airportPublic transportTake bus 200E to Kobanya-Kispest metro station (the terminal stop of the bus route). When you get off the bus under Koki shopping centre you should ascend the nearest steps and cross to the metro station. Then take the metro to the Déak Ferenc tér stop. One metro transfer ticket (530huf) will cover the entire journey. The tickets comes in two numbered parts, the first of which should be stamped on the bus in the orange boxes and the second as you enter the metro station. When you exit the metro follow the signs for Déak Ferenc tér and ascend the escalator. Turn right and then left and ascend the second, shorter escalator to the surface. Exit the station to the right and turn right. Take the first left down Déak Ferenc utca ('Fashion St.') and walk straight ahead to Vörösmarty tér. As you enter the square the door to No. 2 will be on your left, between an Italian bistro and and Interchange exchange: Bus 200E runs from 04:09 to 00:21, every seven to eight minutes during the day, and every ten minutes in the early morning and late evening. Metro line 3 runs from 04:26 to 23:26, every three to five minutes during the day, and every ten minutes in the early morning and late evening. Metro line 1 runs from 04:45 to 23:45, every two to five minutes during the day, and every ten minutes in the early morning and late evening. There is alternative to the combination of bus 200E and metro line 3. Bus 100E travels directly from the airport to Déak Ferenc tér. When you get off the bus at Déak Ferenc tér turn left and then cross the road and tram tracks to your left. Wa;lk down Déak Ferenc utca ('Fashion St.') and walk straight ahead to Vörösmarty tér. As you enter the square the door to No. 2 will be on your left, between an Italian bistro and and Interchange exchange: Note that you must buy a specific Airport Shuttle bus single ticket (900huf) for this service and then buy an extra regular single ticket for the M1 journey. Bus 100E runs from 05:00 to 00:30, every 30 minutes. Tickets are available at the information desk, a machine beside the bus stop and from the bus driver. 24 and 72 hour passes (1650HUF and 4150HUF), which cover all forms of transport, are also available from the information desks. TaxiThe official taxi service is located outside the main door of the terminal building. The journey to the city centre will cost around 7000HUF (approximately 22 euro) and take about thirty minutes. The apartment is on a pedestrianised square, so you should take the taxi to 1052 Budapest, Bécsi u. 4. Then walk down the pedestrianised Déak Ferenc utca (which should be the first left when you get out of the taxi) and after 50m you'll arrive to Vörösmarty tér. The building door will be on your left as you enter the square, between the Il Pastaio restaurant and the Interchange exchange. Mini BusThere is also a mini bus taxi service, which brings several passengers to various parts of the city centre. This is marginally cheaper than a taxi, though can take as long as using the public transport system, depending on the order in which passengers are dropped off. |
